Commemorating Earth Day and the March for Science
Today on earth,
at least in our neck of the woods,
count on marching, chanting,
old and new friends demonstrating
the art and science of action
in concert. Is this dark time necessary,
in fact mandatory—a test
we can’t skip or take “someday”—
to move us forward
just shy of midnight and thus move
sweet, vulnerable earth,
mother of us all, forward with us?
And is this the question
today on earth?
