Time and I

A “Lune Dance” to kick off
National Poetry Writing Month 2016

Time has been rushing
by, or so
I’ve been thinking. But

suddenly it feels
like time to
unwind, to watch my

roses grow and get
some basil
going. Time and I

conspiring in some
new yin bloom.
If I could just stop

this brisk march toward… well…
nothing.
A snail’s pace may just

be my way to grow
this season,
or, stranger, a long

slow dance that renders
done my race
to what from now on.

Poem #1 of 30 for National Poetry Writing Month April 2016
