One old pleasure of mine is imagining an anticipated moment in the future, noting to someone how delicious it will be to arrive there and remember the moment when I remarked on anticipating it. Then the awaited day comes, and the sweetness of re-living the anticipation doubles the deliciousness of the moment!
So my expressed anticipation begins today, on a very busy day in what will be another non-stop month in an action-packed season. I’ll count down to a very different July, to real down time, for just being, adventuring, reflecting, and eating well, with precious unstructured time. And I’ll be writing about it all.
From Ernest Hemingway:
If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.
Kevin had that young man’s experience and enjoyed sharing Paris with me decades later, a few years ago. This time we’ll linger, with time for me to have my own deep experience, including chronicling how it impacts me during July and beyond. Beautiful!
And tell me: what summer adventure are you busy anticipating in the midst of it all?
