A Memorial Day reflection…

Today I’m reflecting on the individuals and families everywhere who have lost loved ones to wars, whether in service or as victims. I dedicate this post to all those who feel loss today.

And I offer a profound characterization of the ultimate human freedom, from eminent psychiatrist and concentration camp survivor Victor Frankl:

Everything can be taken from a man or a woman but one thing: the last of human freedoms–to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s way.

Rigorous, yes. Beautiful. Yes.
